My Exclusive Interview with: Melissa George

Melissa George
Over the next few months, on behalf of Beautiful Girl Makeup, I will be conducting my own exclusive interviews with glamorous movie + television stars and personalities, who are synonymous with beauty and style.

My first interview is with a nearest and dearest friend of mine, the very beautiful and accomplished actress Melissa George, who has graced our screens in major film and television roles including her Golden Globe nominated work in ‘In Treatment’, ‘Greys Anatomy’, ‘Alias’ and her recent standout performance in the acclaimed Television adaptation of  Christos Tsiolkas’ best-selling novel ‘The Slap’.
Melissa kindly took time out of her busy schedule shooting her lead role for BBC drama ‘Hunted’ to discuss her treasured beauty secrets and how she maintains her classic, elegant and radiant beauty.
Laura: Describe your makeup style?
Melissa:  Very classic, always a sheer base, rosy cheeks, nude lip, with a little bat wing eye liner, kind of 50's Italian siren. I love my eye brows full, and my lashes thick.
Laura: What is your night-time skin care routine?
Melissa:  I sit in the steam shower and cleanse 3 or 4 times...and then I use many night products. The most important product is CE Ferulic Acid. I also have a chemical peel every 2 years to keep the skin even.
Laura: What is your must-have makeup product?
Melissa:  Laura Mercier gel brow liner.
Laura: What are some of your favourite makeup brands?
Melissa:  Nars, Trish McEvoy, Napoleon Perdis, Chanel and Armani.
Laura: What top 5 makeup products do you need in your makeup bag?
Melissa: Sisley Tinted Moisturiser, Sublimage Chanel Face Cream, Nars brow liner, Trish McEvoy custom palette and organizer with all my fav' Trish products.  Red lipstick from Napoleon Perdis. His lipsticks are amazing. My boyfriend loves me with my Napoleon red lipstick.
Laura: What is your no 1 beauty secret/tip?
Melissa: Do your make up first then shower after, the steam takes the make up look away without washing it off. Or, spray the face with Evian after, AND, the number 20 YSL Rouge Volupte Lipstick. Little secret.
Laura: Thanks so much Melissa, for sharing some excellent tips and insights into your beauty regimen.  I look forward to giving them a try.

My Exclusive Interview with: Sharni Vinson

Sharni Vinson
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing the gorgeous and talented Australian actress, and triple threat, Sharni Vinson, for Beautiful Girl Makeup (Bgirl Makeup)

With starring roles in Home and Away, Step Up 3D, Blue Crush 2 and Your Next, Sharni's star is shining brighter than ever. Known for her natural and sun kissed look and style, Sharni was kind enough to share some of her beauty tips and favourite makeup brands.

Laura: Describe your makeup style?
Sharni: My make-up style is simple and natural. I believe less is more and skin should be kept as clean and clear as possible.

Laura: If you are going out for the day what would be your makeup routine?
Sharni: On an average day, I'd usually not wear any make-up and just throw on some moisturiser with an SPF in it. If I want to look extra fresh, I use a tinted moisturiser and a light mascara.

Laura: What is your night-time skin care routine?
Sharni: I don't have a night time skin care routine. I simply use Dermalogica products in the morning to cleanse and moisturise- and on special occasions I use a scrub and mask for extra hydration.

Laura: What is your must-have makeup product?
Sharni: MAC is hard to beat. I also love BECCA for their tinted moisturiser and Laura Geller's eyeshadows.

Laura: What top 5 makeup products do you need in your makeup bag?
Sharni: Top 5 products are a tinted moisturiser with SPF, mascara, eyelash curler, eyeliner and paw paw ointment for lips.

Laura: What is your no 1 beauty secret/tip?
Sharni: Drink LOTS of water! And never underestimate the earth’s natural elements- avocado facials, the ocean's salt water and sand as a natural exfoliation. And sleep!

Great, Sharni. Some brilliant tips on achieving effortless beauty. Thank you so much for sharing.

Loving Coral coloured lipstick.

Sofia Vergara rocking Coral coloured Lipstick

I'm loving coral coloured lipstick at the moment.

If red lipstick makes you nervous. but you want to try something different to the regular nude lips, give a coral colour a try. Coral colored lipstick looks good on most women, it all depends on the shade.

For fair skin choose a coral colour that has pink undertones in it and for olive skin try a more orange coral. Sweep some bronzer on to warm the skin up a bit first before you add the coral lips.

Also go for matt colours not the shiny shimmery shades. And add a touch of gloss if you like to give your lips a more fuller effect.

MAC have beautiful coral coloured lipsticks suited to all skin tones.
